Al Bashir Finally Arrives in Beijing
President Omar Al-Bashir safely arrived in China yesterday. Al Bashir had left the Iranian capital Tehran yesterday noon heading for China after he took part in the International Conference on Counter Terrorism which closed yesterday. Al Bashir affirmed, in statements to Chinese news agencies published yesterday in coincidence with the start of the visit, his commitment to peaceful secession of south Sudan.

Meanwhile parties demanded that those involved in violence should be brought to book. South Sudan entitled to join Arab League
The soon-to-be independent state of South Sudan is perfectly entitled to join the League of Arab States (LAS), according to the organization’s envoy in Juba.
South Sudan, whose population is ethnically African and predominantly Christian, will secede from the main homeland in July this year after its citizens voted almost unanimously in a referendum in January for the creation of their own state. Details

Referendum Commission makes progress on technical arrangements
   The South Sudan Referendum Commission has said that it made a tangible progress for the completion of administrative, financial and technical arrangements in order to fulfill its task and mandate. Following the commission's meeting on Wednesday, the spokesman of South Sudan Referendum Commission, Tariq Osman, told Radio Miraya that the meeting approved a draft design of voters' register and its immediate transfer for publishing. Australia: violence overshadows Sudanese beauty pageant

 This year’s Miss South Sudan Australia (MSSA) beauty pageant ended in chaos as over 2000 youths gathered to witness the annually-held event in Melbourne, reportedly saw aggressive brawls.
The Australia-based International Business Times reported that Sudanese youths from across the country, gathered at Springvale hall over the long Easter break and instead resorted to fights, after-parties, and the excessive drinking of alcohol that marred the contest. These waves of anti-social acts reportedly spread in the neighbourhoods across Melbourne. Details
